He's back up to his birth weight now, 3 lb, 7 oz!!!

The kiddos, Gavin's Day 12

Today, I was thinking, Bella is going have so much fun with her new playmate and she doesn't even know he's here yet! Hopefully Gavin can make it home in time for her 1st Birthday celebration!

Day 11, Bottle Service :)

Gavin continues to try new things and is now learning to drink from a bottle. He tires out easily at this point, but eventually he will grow strong enough to take his whole feeding from a bottle. For now he drinks as much as he can tolerate and then gets the rest through his gastric tube. Also, the all NICU nurses have unanimously awarded Gavin the "Most Well Behaved & Least Fussy Baby Award" for the unit! What a little sweetheart he is!!

Day 10...and he just keeps getting cuter!

Today, Gavin got to wear a onesie for the first time, even if it was a little big on him, he rocked it anyways!

Love Him! Day 9

Yay!! No more nasal cannula or IV!!! Gavin weighs 3lbs. 5 oz. now and is almost to his feeding goal of 28cc every 3 hours! He's tiny still, but continues to be one awesome little soldier! Thanks to everyone for all the love & encouragement! All we can do for Gavin right now is give him as much love as we can, and I happen to be really, really good at that, so this has been a time of joy for me! He gets stronger everyday and I know that someday this will all be behind us and we will be kissing his big chubby cheeks! :)

Gavin, Day 8

It didn't take him too long to find his thumb! Now he's just gotta figure out how to suck on it and we can start bottle feeding!

Day 7, HaPpY 1 week BiRthDaY Gavin!!

Gavin continues to progress perfectly and we couldn't ask for better! This week, he has gone from 2cc of breastmilk every 6 hours to 11cc every 3 hours! He is digesting well and is at 3 lbs. 3 oz. now! He has been able to regulate his temperature when we take him out of his incubator to hold him and he has been doing fine breathing with just a small nasal cannula for oxygen! We are so in love with him and have had an amazing week watching him continue to improve day by day!

I love my babies!! Gavin Day 5

Today, I got to give Gavin his first bath! He must have liked getting his hair washed becasue he gave us BiG SmiLes the whole time! Kate also came to visit today and got to spend time rocking Gavin and giving him lots of love!

...and Bella is also making lots of progress on her own!

Day 4

Gavin is now off the CPAP mask and just has a small nasal cannula for oxygen. He is getting 2cc of breastmilk every 6 hours thru a gastric tube and has been digesting it very well so far! He is weighing 3 lbs., 2 oz. now and we are all thrilled with his progress!
